Physician Office Specimen Requirements

Container Tube:  Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) - Plasma gel tube is not acceptable. Dark green-top (sodium heparin) tube or light blue-top (sodium citrate) tube is also acceptable.

Specimen:  2 mL (minimum volume:  1 mL) of EDTA whole blood

Transport Temperature:  Ambient

Collection Instructions:  Do not centrifuge. If there is a delay in transport of >72 hours, send specimen refrigerated in ≤7 days.
